The studio

We don't sell pools. We build the place your family will spend the next twenty summers.

Meridian started in 2008 with one crew, one excavator, and a refusal to do what most Phoenix builders do — pour a shell over un-tested soil, hand it to a subcontractor, and disappear. Our founder learned gunite under a third-generation pool man in Tucson, and that standard still governs every job: the steel cage, the soil report, the hydraulics, the finish.

We build across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Fountain Hills, and Greater Phoenix — and we keep our schedule small on purpose. Fewer jobs, one dedicated project lead per build, a clean site every evening, and a real person who answers the phone.

How a Meridian pool gets built

01 — Design

Every pool begins on the land, not the page.

02 — 3D Model

We model your yard in 3D before a shovel touches dirt.

03 — Build

One crew. One season. No subcontractor roulette.

04 — Handover

Then we hand you a backyard built to outlast us.

What we build

Four things, done to one standard.

01

Custom Design & New Construction

From $85,000

Why it matters. A pool engineered for your soil and sun becomes the center of family life and adds real resale value to the home.

If it's done cheap. A shell poured without a soil report or a proper steel cage cracks within five Arizona summers — and a cracked shell is a demolition, not a repair. We don't pour until the engineering says it'll last.

02

Spas, Water & Fire Features

From $18,000

Why it matters. Raised spas, sheer descents, and fire bowls turn a pool into a year-round room you actually use on a cool desert evening.

If it's done cheap. Undersized plumbing and bad hydraulics mean weak flow, loud equipment, and a feature you stop turning on. We size the system to the feature, not the other way around.

03

Renovation & Resurfacing

From $12,000

Why it matters. New plaster, tile, and modern equipment bring a tired 90s pool back to life for a fraction of a rebuild — and cut your energy bill with a variable-speed pump.

If you wait too long. Failing plaster exposes the gunite to the water table and rebar to rust. What's a resurface today becomes a structural repair next year.

04

Outdoor Living & Hardscape

From $25,000

Why it matters. Travertine decking, ramadas, and outdoor kitchens finish the picture — so the pool isn't a feature, it's the whole backyard working as one space.

Why build it together. Decking and shade planned alongside the shell means proper drainage, level grading, and no torn-up yard six months later. We design the whole envelope at once.

Completed negative-edge pool with raised spa and travertine deck

Project in focus · Paradise Valley

A negative edge on a 9% slope.

The lot fell nine feet across the build area. To float a vanishing edge over the valley, we engineered a stepped footing with a tensioned steel cage and a catch basin sized for monsoon overflow — so the waterline reads dead level against the McDowells from the house.

Finished in glass-tile waterline, a raised spa with a 14-foot spillway, and travertine decking graded to drain away from the shell. Excavation to first swim: 14 weeks.

What homeowners say

“They poured on the soil report, not the deadline. Three summers in, not a single crack — and the crew left our yard cleaner than they found it, every single day.”

Dana & Marcus R. · Paradise Valley · Negative-edge build

“We got three bids. Meridian was the only one who handed us a 3D model and a fixed timeline. They beat it by a week and came in on budget.”

Priya N. · Scottsdale · Lap pool & outdoor kitchen

“Our 1994 pool was failing. They resurfaced, re-plumbed, and added a spa — for a third of what a rebuild would've cost. It looks brand new and our energy bill dropped.”
